We R Memory Keepers Simply Spring

Happy Friday everyone!!  It isn't quite spring yet - very soon though, it is finally almost feeling like spring outside here in Oregon - but you can capture a bit of spring with the We R Memory Keeper's Simply Spring collection.  I just adore the soft colors of the collection.  When I saw them I initially thought about our Spring showers in Oregon, but after seeing a tag that was very clearly baby "themed," I jumped at the chance to use the line on photos of my littlest.

See, that "Our Little Chickadee" tag is just perfect!  The colors my daughter was wearing in the photos were a bit to bold for the colors of the collection, so I decided to go with black and white photos.  I like how they keep the look soft and pretty.

Wanting to make sure that I had a chance to work with a lot of the fun patterns, I turned to my Kiwi Lane templates to help me bring everything together.  I will include a list of the specific templates below.  I built the vertical piece almost imagining a vine or tree growing - though clearly the colors don't apply).  I loved the idea of the butterflies and twine going up the strips and adding movement to the layout.  The smaller round and floral stickers from the collection added perfect finishing touches to the line of embellishments.

I did hide some journaling on this layout.  It is a very personal note from me to my youngest, so I hid it quite well among the layers.  The soft colors allowed me to journal directly onto some patterned paper, so it was able to blend in easily with the other layers.

I saw this sunshine tag and thought that it would make a sweet card.  I used more Kiwi Lane templates, taking my inspiration from the scalloped sticker piece, I built layers of scallops on the patterned paper background.  I used Adorn 3A and 3B for these scallops.  After adding the tag, I left the card alone, because I like the "white" space above the umbrella - it helps to balance the busier left side of the card.  This is a very quick card to put together, which is always nice!
