SC Yearbook and Vacation

I still have lots of photos from our family vacation to California in October in my waiting to be scrapped pile.  So last night, I decided that I would tackle some photos of my brother and I taking our girls on the log ride at Funderland.  I wasn't really sure what papers I wanted to use, but I finally settled on Studio Calico's Yearbook.  I just liked the color scheme - even if my pictures of little to do with anything particularly educational.  :)

I also wanted to tackle two challenges from 2Peas this week.  The In the Mood to Scrap challenge from Liz Kartchner to use circles that you embellish in your layout and the challenge from Glitter Girl to discuss your process of thinking about and placing your title.

These pictures are of the splashes we made coming down the final hill.  I went for a big splash, while my brother went for a small one (a fact that I tease him about in my journaling).  I used several Kiwi Lane Designer Templates on my layout - Tiny Shapes (both circles and the triangle), Tiny Accents (stars), Mini Paisley (for the blue waves behind the stars), and Tags (for the journaling tag).  I also brought in flair from SC's Darling Dear, washi from Freckled Fawn, and some wood veneer.  The journaling tag is tucked into a pocket from the Yearbook line.

You probably also see all of the doodling I did on this layout.  I really enjoy that little fun touch it adds to my layouts and its so easy and quick to do.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!!
