Project Life Journaling Cards - Adding Hand Doodling

In Studio Calico's Day-By-Day class, the fantastic Suzy did a pdf on hand doodling on PL journaling cards to give them your own touch.  I've never really thought of myself as a doodler, though in thinking about it, I realize if I have a pen in my hand I will doodle - I just seem to rarely have a pen in my hand!

I thought I'd give doodling a try.  I had a stack of printables on my desk from the SC class and Simple Stories freebie on the first, so I grabbed them and sat with my lap desk, markers, and pens on my bed.  (this was an insomnia project!)

Here is the whole collection of cards I did last night.  I don't remember how long they took me, but it really wasn't very long.  It was a fun process, relaxing .... and it was incredibly enjoyable to watch the cards transformed with just a few strokes of my markers.

This is easily my favorite of the bunch.  I took the yellow card with the speech bubble and hello already printed on and white.  I added the pink scallop, the teal outline to the sentiment, and the teal dots around the edge (pink, yellow, and teal is easily my favorite color combo right now).

For this one I outlined in black around the hello, in brown around the numbers and then I actually shaded the numbers with a darker marker.  You can't really see it on this picture but I added the orange strips to the printed "washi tape" in the opposite direction from the piece already printed with the blue stripe.

This particular card just grew and changed as I did it. I started with the scallops in yellow and just built from there, ending with the blue striped strip that goes "behind" the frame.  The frame really isn't at all centered, but I like it that way.  It will be fun to figure out how to put this card to use in my album.  :)

I definitely am going to do more doodling in the future.  I've been working on my OLW intention and action cards today and they are all getting some doodling.  :)  Hopefully I'll be sharing those soon, along with my completed December Journal!!
