Today is my first blog for Practical Scrappers. Today at Practical Scrappers we have a layout sketch for you!
Here is the sketch provided by the talented Liz Chidester.
I love making "L" shaped layouts - forwards, backwards, upside down or right side up. It is such a lovely starting point. Here is my take on the sketch:
I used a bunch of Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic, which is one of my absolute favorite collections recently. I love the soft colors particularly with my girlies. These three pictures of are my Adelé. I used my silhouette to cut out the whole bunch of stars out of vellum to use as my embellishments. They add a very subtle touch. The pink striped piece behind the title is a piece of vellum tape from Basic Grey. I also used some mini Kiwi Lane templates to create the border under the photos.
The thickers are Amy Tangerine white woodgrain thickers and then I added die cuts, stickers, and chipboard from 5th and Frolic to finish out the layout.
I wrote a ton of journaling on this layout. I had a very special story to tell about how Adelé helped to bring joy and some peace on the day my husband's grandfather passed away. I wanted to make sure that I captured the story while it was still fresh in my head. I don't often write this much on a layout, but this was a special case so I was glad I had the space for it (another perk to "L" shaped layouts).
So head on over to Practical Scrappers to see what my fellow designers did with the sketch and join in on the fun!!
