This week the Ten Things Team at Practical Scrappers gives you lots of things to try with Patterned Paper. Obviously we all know how to use paper, as layers on our layouts, but hopefully we will inspire you to try some other things out with your papers.
I used my Kiwi Lane Templates and some gorgeous brand new Authentique paper (from the Spring mini-collection) to create embellishments out of patterned paper.
The flowers were created using the Tiny Accents 1T. Each flower is a layer of two flowers cut out. I misted each of the pieces to be able to give them a little bit of dimension. Then I put a small cut out of paper in the middle of each flower and used a brad to attach them to the layout. The top borders were created using Paisley Place 1A/1B. I used the border templates to actually cut out the fun patterned printed on one of the patterned papers to make it a focal point on the layout.
I also used the cut out from a piece of patterned paper to create the "journaling" card alongside the photos, though I did very little journaling there. Template 3A from Adorn provided the scalloped border.
The brads are from Echo Park (This and That) and October Afternoon (Make It Merry).
I layered is some of the stickers and diecuts from the collection as well to add to the embellishment.
Finally, I cut the springtime banner from the cut apart piece of patterned paper and used it to as part of my title.
Hopefully this gives you some great ideas for using patterned papers on your layouts. Head over to Practical Scrappers to get even more awesome ideas!
