Pearl 6- Heyday!

The steal on scrapbooksteals this week for the mid-week mojo was Studio Calico's Heyday collection.  I only bought the thickers available that day (which aren't here yet) because I already had the 6x6 pad on its way to me.  Kristy's sketch worked out perfectly for the 6x6 pad, as she actually used the 6x6 pad herself on the layout.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my interpretation of the sketch:

I kept my papers more square and tweaked up the embellishments to fit my ideas and I think it turned out awesome.  I love the colors of Heyday and it coordinated well with some of the leftover pieces from my Summer of '69 kit.  I have to admit though my favorite part is the stamp at the bottom of the page.  I LOVE that saying and honestly that particular stamp is 99% of why I purchased the Calico Borders stamp set in the first place.  With myself and two little ladies living in this house, I know it will get TONS of use.

I think I'm finding my scrapping style more and more these last few weeks and I think in the near future I"ll write up a blog post about what I'm learning and where I'm learning it from.  I've found some amazing resources on the web and they are really helping me think about layout structure.  Its so nice to feel like my layouts actually come together as they do for a reason, not just by chance.
