Here is her sketch:
When I first got started, I printed out three photos, three photo frames and picked out MME's Kraft Funday as my collection. Then the layout apparently spoke to me in my dreams last night and had completely other plans. So while I think you can definitely see the inspiration from the sketch, my layout took a pretty different turn.
I used a silhouette cut from a Studio Calico class I am in to make the triangle pattern and stuck a few pieces of patterned paper behind some of the triangles. I love how everything is "triangular" with straight lines and angles, except the one scalloped piece. I feel like it pulls the whole layout together. My frames are also Studio Calico cut files for the Silhouette from their current Summer of '69 collection.
I really adore the colors of Kraft Funday and the whole layout. It is so fun and I think I'm finally realizing that my personal style is on the simpler side with a graphic feel. I'm still kinda feeling that out, but the last few layouts and cards I've completed have made me feel like maybe I'm getting closer to defining my style.
